January 2027
Street Photography
Photograph everyday life in a public place, capturing people, behaviour or candid moments.

February 2027
Minimalism in Mono
Create a monochrome image with a simple composition, removing clutter and unnecessary visual information.

March 2027
Mist or Smoke
Make mist or smoke central to the subject, atmosphere or visual effect.

April 2027
Red, Yellow, Blue and Green
Choose one colour from red, yellow, blue or green and make that colour a prominent feature of the photograph.

May 2027
Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)
Move the camera deliberately during the exposure to create an expressive or abstract image.

June 2027
Through a Lens
Photograph through an intermediate object, such as a prism, glass bottle, fence or rain-streaked window, to change how the subject appears.

Eerie Images
Create an image with a dark, creepy or unsettling atmosphere.

August 2027
Themed Portrait
Build a portrait around a recognisable theme through styling, setting, clothing, props or mood.

September 2027
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall (Fairy Tale)
Create an image inspired by the fairy-tale meaning of ‘Mirror, Mirror on the Wall’. Use characters, symbolism, setting or atmosphere to communicate the idea.

October 2027
Footprints
Make footprints or the visible traces of a journey the main subject or message.
Club night 13 October 2027. Entries close Sunday 10 October at 23:59.
November 2027
Close-Up
Show a small detail or part of a subject, rather than the whole subject.
Club night 10 November 2027. Entries close Sunday 7 November at 23:59.
December 2027
Year-end submission
Dates to be announced by the committee. Up to 20 images per member, maximum 4 per category, from your 2027 club entries. Theme and Macro photographs go in whichever of the six categories suits them best.
